Feathers/eagle option question and would like to see pics

Just doing some thinking on this since Harry has this set of decals. Anyway was there any special options or packages that were on eagle/feathers optioned trucks and blazers or could you get them with plain jane trucks/blazers? Also would love to see any white blazers/trucks with the original eagle/feathers decals on them. Thanks for any help, Randy

Re: Feathers/eagle option question and would like to see pics

It seems they were made to fit between upper and lower moldings, but Blazers and Suburbans make an exception to that. They were an add-on/post-factory,so I'd think they could be found on anything someone put them on.I just can't say I've seen a pickup with them that didn't have the deluxe two-tone.

Some brochure pics for you. Hopefully you can read the captions with them in the pics. Looks like these mainly had at least lower trim on them.

Re: Feathers/eagle option question and would like to see pics

Here's a few pictures of one that is for sale in Hamilton, MT. Wants 1800 for it, not a bad truck. If I remember correctly, it has factory tool box, a/c, 350/auto.

Re: Feathers/eagle option question and would like to see pics

Ironangel, if Randy decides to pass on it I will let you know the details. It's been almost a year since I looked at it. I believe everything was still intact. I'm pretty sure, not 100%, it had the tool box option, but I believe it had some rust there. Other than that, I can't remember if it had rust or not. This was one of the nicest trucks for sale there, other than a red 70 that was super nice, but that ones 3k+.

Re: Feathers/eagle option question and would like to see pics

Randy the eagle package can only be used on the standard two tone- white top trucks and with lower molding only. The "400" paint code is the deluxe two tone white, color, white, color. If you do this eagle set, let me know how you do the tailgate pieces, the set I have does not have the instruction sheet that the set harry has (at least that I am aware of)- still have to find a truck for my set as well, I guess that will be the next project????

Re: Feathers/eagle option question and would like to see pics

Will this truck satisfy your mod bod fetish or are you still considering some for the other truck?
I don't know who put them on what truck. But,there's nothing to stop someone from putting them on any of these trucks. The Vega doesn't have any moldings and the design doesn't fill all the way to the molding on vehicles that have it.Blazers and Suburbans have no upper trim.I figure GM would naturally advertise using higher optioned trucks and the same was probably true with the ones dealers put on their lots. But,they were available as an accessory for any truck they were designed for.I believe I have seen no trim trucks with this kit somewhere along the line.

Re: Feathers/eagle option question and would like to see pics

Hey Tim, I always wanted to be a hippy, so I thought one of these trucks would get me back to it It looks like on drivers side of this 3/4 there is 2 spots missing under aux gas tank, it may just be from the gas spills over the years. I'm still thinking about getting the ones from Harry for my 72 swb 4x4. I have to think about it all though, you know married life, its not the smoothest ride all the time.

Yes,I know "staying" married can take some tact sometimes.if you want,I can look up a bunch of old hippy friends and we could have a festival at your place. You'd end up with a psych-o-delic paint job on all your trucks.Wife's ride, too! Peace, love, dove, brother!

Re: Feathers/eagle option question and would like to see pics

i'll chime in uninvited, since i have a set

here are a few pics of mine... these are a few years old, but still look the same.
These are the "feathers" set, though that's not noted anywhere with the truck. "Sportbird" is the only identity given, by the sticker on the glove box.

probably the main source of the questions and thumbs up that seems to follow me...
