Anybody have a factory manual for a NP203 equipped truck?

What kind of oil does it say to put in the NP203? I want to know what the owner's or shop manual says. I believe it is 10W-30 or 10W-40. Thanks.

Re: Anybody have a factory manual for a NP203 equipped truck?

I've seen some things that say New Process intended it to have straight 30 weight non-detergent, like you said, but I have no idea where to find the New Process specs. The cheesy Haynes manual I bought for my truck says 10w-30, but I don't necessarily trust it. I'm curious what GM, Ford and Dodge said to put in. And I assume some of those trucks were in the military. I wonder what their manuals said.

"military" cucvs have either NP205s or NP208s, NO NP203s

Direct from my '77 owner's manual and in the General's own words:

I looked in my 78 shop manual and all it says about 203 oil is to use "ENGINE OIL". thats the exact words.

Re: Anybody have a factory manual for a NP203 equipped truck?

Thanks for the input, guys. Still not sure which way I'm going to go. The 203 is in my '79 K20, which is all the sudden getting alot more use than usual since the engine in my '70 K10 burb spun a bearing or something. I'd forgotten how unnerving it can be to drive a full-time truck at 70 mph. This truck usually just sits except when something needs to be hauled or pulled.
