wiring cs alt. with gauges???
Found lots of write ups on the upgrade, but nothing shows with amp gauge. Can it be done with amp gauge working??

The alternator has nothing to do with the factory ammeter they are 2 separate circuits which do not depend on each other for 1 or the other to work.
Below is a diagram for the CS alternator, the regulator plug will be labeled either PLFS or PLIS with either the L terminal needs a resistor or bulb wired in series, Delco recommends any value between 35 ohm, 5 watts and 500 ohm, 1/2 watt. Both a bulb and resistor could be used on the L terminal as long as they ar wired parallel with one another if you have the I terminal it can be wired directly to the ignition switch because it has internal resistance.

Ok thanks fixit. I'm still confused? So I can just do the swap like from the chevelle forums and not worry about the gauge. I thought if you have a gauge you don't have a light? If you know of a straight forward diagram with pics would help, can you get me there. Thanks
