Cool Has anyone ever stretched a truck into a longhorn?

Hi guys,
I was just thinking with all the people shortening long beds has anyone ever stretched a truck to build a longhorn? I was thinking I might try to find a decent 3/4 ton 4x4 and stretch it and add a big block. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I've never seen it done, but imagine it would be the same process as shortening except you would add 6" instead of taking out 12", and you wouldn't have to modify the rear section. You should be the first and do a writeup.

Re: Has anyone ever stretched a truck into a longhorn?

I have a 3/4ton 4x4 chassis sitting out on my pad right now that I stretched to build a Longhorn 4x4 project. I also stretched a steel bed bottom to make a new floor that looks factory. It's for sale if anyone is interested. WES

Re: Has anyone ever stretched a truck into a longhorn?

I saw one that was an original Longhorn chassis and body converted to 3/4 ton 4x4. I wonder if Napco ever converted one like they did the 67-72 dually trucks. Sharpie

Special K...you are spot on. A SWB truck is really a LWB truck that got short changed.
