Shocks or bags ???
My 72 Sub is lowered with springs and spindles. Runs, rides, and handles good! When I hook up the car hauler (trailer) it sits right down - bottoms out. Will air shocks help or do I need to put in air bags? I really don't have the bucks for bags. I need a poor man's fix.

Re: Shocks or bags ???
Air shocks likely won't help. Bags are the best way to go.

Re: Shocks or bags ???
from what I understand, which is limited, you can get bags for about the same cost as lowered springs. The stuff that starts costing is the electronics and pumps/tanks and stuff. I think 200.00 and you could be riding on air with manual fill.

Re: Shocks or bags ???
My '85 Burb has a flip kit in the rear and I have about 1.5" between the axle and frame, no notch....yet, and I have air shocks installed for ease. They do really help with big loads or a trailer. I've had some loads of people/junk in it and they really help with towing the boat. It is a poor mans fix for sure, I plan on installing air ride in the rear in the spring/summer just because I think it would be better. The air shocks are a temp. fix. for me but if you need them JUST for towing a trailer, do it. You can get a decent set for around $80 or so, far cheaper than an air ride set up, even with manual fill valves, etc.

Re: Shocks or bags ???
You need helper bags, air shocks just aren't going to cut it especially with the added weight of a trailer.

Re: Shocks or bags ???
I would get them for the C10 because the frame mount is what matters.

Re: Shocks or bags ???
Install bags in place of the lowered coils out back. Better ride & adjustable for those occassional loads.
