I am in the process of restoreing my speed minder speedo for my 69, got the face cleaned and i painted the "red" mph arm, but i'm not sure if the speed minder pointer is suppose to be white or yellow? Anyone know?

I have always done mine in white, but I have seen some with a yellow tint to it and though it was just that way from the sun discoloring it

Re: speedminder expert needed

Actually they are a shade of YELLOW when new and change to White with age because of the sun's harmful uv rays. They basically fade/bleach out.
I have an N.O.S. speedminder still in its original GM box and has very very rarely ever seen the sun and is a shade of yellow.
My used/old ones are closer to white.
I hope this helps!

Re: speedminder expert needed

Here are the pictures I promissed. Very hard to tell, but the needle is very yellowish. I have a very old digital camera and it doesn't take very clear pictures. I'm not sure what I will ever do with this NOS speedminder..... It will will just loose it's value as soon as it's installed! It's a very beautiful piece to look at in person. Sorry about the delay, I forgot!

Re: speedminder expert needed

No problem. If I ever do sell it, I will let everyone here know. I think I will hold on to it though for now..... unless I got some crazy offer I can not refuse!
