Re: having some problems guys need some info

have you loosened the bolts that attach the hood to the hinges?

Re: having some problems guys need some info

without pics is difficult to say
you might need to reposition your fenders or even shim them to get good even gaps

Re: having some problems guys need some info

If your hinges are worn out and loose, you may have to replace them. Start with that.

Re: having some problems guys need some info

You might after trying the other things loosen the core support and adjust or check the squareness of the core support to the cab. You can pull a tape diagonally and get an idea, then you can adjust the core support and or shim the fenders to get the best gap. Have you had the front clip off? I am assuming so if it is out of square.

>>to close to the front of my driver fender and sticks ou to far on my passenger side<<

I don't know if this will make sense to ya but could it also be possible that your cab was not sitting squairly in the mounts when you put the cab on (twisted a little to the right when looking straight down from above) Then when you mounted the core support it made the fenders mount a little crooked?? both in the same direction?

I would try and put a large squair on the firewall for a visual to each fender and also measure diagonally from each corner to the same points to see if the fenders are squair to the cab.

Re: having some problems guys need some info

I think the am/fm may have been out in 70. Otherwise 71/72 is what you want. In 67 there was a plastic plug that covered the clutch hole in the firewall. I think that changed to metal in 69 or 70.

Re: having some problems guys need some info

you don't need an am/fm if you have the clutch delete plate you can adjust the hood by setting the am to 1492 and turn the bass/treble knob but put the truck in park on level ground

Sorry,I couldn't resist. This thread is all over the place and gave me a chuckle.Asking is the way to learn and many are glad to answer.I've never felt so behind in a thread in so little time. The hood alignment,as you've learned,is the tell tale of all front body alignment.Did you check for slop in the hinges? For parts specific to these trucks that are not reproduced I look in the parts forum,Ebay, craigslist, and junk yards.
