radiator repair?

the radiator in my 70 c10 with a v8 had the top water neck of the radiator broken off where the water hose connects. can this be repaired usually by a radiator shop or is this a lost cause?

Re: radiator repair?

most rad repair shops could do the repair// take it in have them look it over and get an estimate// b4 getting estimate know what a replacement costs

Re: radiator repair?

I had the same problem but mine was hanging on by an inch of solder. I took it to a local shop and they flushed it, pressure washed the outside, soldered the neck back on and pressure tested it for $20. I was impressed.

Re: radiator repair?

The camaro in my pic had the upper neck broke also and I took it in and they fixed it, flushed, and the whole 9 yards and it was $50. I was very shocked that they could fix it but i have been very impressed. This was much cheaper than a good quality replacement. The repair only took a day to fix.

Re: radiator repair?

Your guy's shops sound great! I had to take in the rad from my wife's 41 GMC it took them a week to do it and I think they charged like $60, all they did was flush and fix a few pinholes then throw some paint on.
