Top Glass Question
With the blazer nearly complete thought it was time to move the top inside for the winter to restore. My question is: What is the best way to remove the side glass? Can this be done like the windshield with a rope pressed down into the seal? Or if someone would post a link that would be great, thanks

Re: Top Glass Question
The side glass is actually a lot easier than the windshield, because you're not dealing with the sharp corners and it's almost flat. If you have a hook tool (also called a cotter pin puller - like a screwdriver handle with a hook on the end) you can just start near one of the corners and put pressure on the glass from the inside while you gently work the rubber out. A little glass cleaner on the rubber can help lubricate it.
You can also use a rope, but if you plan to reuse the rubber be really careful, because sometimes the rope will tear the rubber. Last edited by truckster; 11-25-2010 at 01:10 AM. |
