67 Paint code

Hello all. My 67 shows a paint code of 04523AA. From searching on here it seems for the newer trucks that 523 was dark blue. Did the paint number code stay the same from 67 to 72? Right now its black (exterior) but it isn't the original paint job. Interior is a silvery tan but I don't see a second paint code anywhere.

Re: 67 Paint code

I know that the interiors on '67's were painted a different color than the exterior.

Re: 67 Paint code

I went there but must be using the site wrong. It seems that I have to know what the color of the paint was and then they give the formula to make the paint. I'll look again though. Thanks

Re: 67 Paint code

Maybe I'm missreading, but 4523AA is silver if I'm not mistaken, pretty rare color...

Re: 67 Paint code

Here's the Ditzler Code for the interior color of silver.

It's in the left column.

Re: 67 Paint code

The link above from 72blckbuty shows a number for medium fawn. It actually shows two numbers for the same medium fawn(?). Also shows a fawn. Some are under gloss interior and some are under interior 0 gloss. Now I have to go check my interior. I think it was all zero gloss, but maybe not the dash.

Re: 67 Paint code

I only see the 523 which is a greyish silver.where do see fawn mentioned and what was the code? These colors go back in years and '67 was the last year of this tradition. The interior was one of the two, according to exterior color.
This is the color for the seat belt (GMC):

Fawn was a fairly common color used on GM cars, too, both exterior and interior. It varied a bit but pretty much the same color/different shades.

On this link it mentions the fawn interior and references a ditzler paint number. If you were talking about a GM code I have no idea what or where that would be.

Re: 67 Paint code

My 67 was originally dark blue on the outside and a light blue on the inside. Paint code from the SPID is 4508AA. Here's a pic of the blue on on the inside, just so you know all weren't the Fawn or Silver interior.

Exterior paint code 523 is Silver Metallic.Unforutantely there is no interior paint code on vehicle.Yes paint codes change. '67 was a strange year when it comes to interior colors, GM used the carryover standard color Medium Fawn from '66 and also used other color coordinated interiors. My guess is the dash was painted flat Fawn and the rest of interior Fawn.
