will this tranny/TC combo work??
this guy has a SM465 and NP208 for sale, and i have a 350/350 combo. will this combo bolt right up right under my truck, or will there have to be some modification, besides the hole in the hump?

I wouldn't exactly say "bolt-up".You should have posted this in the 4wd message board where such swaps are better known. It's not exactly 67-72 specific.

You are looking at a bunch of changes here, not the least of which is an automatic to manual conversion. The SM465 is quite a bit shorter than a TH350, so I'm pretty sure your driveshaft lengths are going to change. What kind of TC do you have now?

Re: will this tranny/TC combo work??
For a lot more information go to www.coloradok5.com A 350 usually came with a 203 tcase behind it. The 465 or 435 trannies are good and the 208 is an aluminium case that will not take a big hit but usually for most is strong enough. I would go with the 4 speed and a 208 in a minute. If you get a pedal assembly and linkage it is not that bad of a swap. If you do have the 203 tcase i would be glad to get rid of the boat anchor. I am not a fan of a 350 tranny niether. When i ran a 350/3 on the tree /205 setup i got about 3-5 mpg more than a like truck i had the 350/350/203 setup with all else the same. Do not really like the part time kits for a 203 either. The hump i think is different but go with a 2" body lift and should only have to cut 1 hole for the shifter. Again go to ck5 for lots of info.
