i have read that some 70 model 6 lug axles are the same measurement as the 71/72 5 lug. anybody the numbers on a 71/72? im asking for drum backing plate to backing plate, not the axle shafts themselves. thanks

It's safest to measure over the drums. You want to see about 63-1/2". The short 6 lug rears are about 62".

thanks ray. from what i understand the 71/72 5 lug axles will work with the longer 6 lug housing.
