58-59 Fleet Info

Looking for some info for a 58-59 Chevy Truck with Fleetside bed. Need to know where the rear license bumper bracket mounts. any pictures would be great. is the bracket the same as the 60-66 or different?

Re: 58-59 Fleet Info

Do you know if the bumpers all had the holes drilled or punched in it (in the drop down section?) where it appears that it might have mounted, Thanks

Re: 58-59 Fleet Info

I have two holes with low domed chromed bolts in them. It would seem logical that it would mount there but all the books I have show a bracket mounted under the rear sill.

Re: 58-59 Fleet Info

The book that would tell for sure is the 58-9 assembly manual supplement. The regular 55-59 assembly manual doesn't list the fleet side rear electrical.

Here is a picture from a sales flyer

Re: 58-59 Fleet Info

The licence light under the rear sill was standard because trucks did not come with rear bumpers. They were optional. The drop down bumper is supposed to have it on the bumper, but not all of them had it.
