Wiring harness questions

I am about to order a wiring harness for my 57 but have read mixed reviews
on what brand to buy. I bought the truck and it came with no wiring what so ever. I have limited wiring experience so the easier the better.

Let me know what you think !

Re: Wiring harness questions

I think the type of wiring harness you need really depends on what you are trying to do. If it's a stock truck, then the stock replacement wiring harness that is avail from any aftermarket would work fine. That's what I used, I got mine from Grumpy's here in AZ. Very complete and while the instructions are not super detailed, they did a good job of guiding me!

If you are putting in a late model engine/drivetrain and going with a modern interior, then the painless wiring harness would be your best bet.

Re: Wiring harness questions

I have used both E-ZWire and ItsA snap, I think the itsasnap was a better product.

Re: Wiring harness questions

I am far from an expert at electrical systems and a friend introduced me to Painless Wiring's wiring harnesses. I would use them again as they where simple and straight forward. I am sure there are others out there as easy...I just don't have any experience with anything else.

Re: Wiring harness questions

I was able to get answers faster from I A Snap.
There were less wires in the 21 circuit for things like left and right back up light!
I found it easier and less confusing to wire my 55 GMC than the 53 which was the EZ wire. The price was the same but there was more information with the I A Snak kit.
