fabed up an aluminum tank to mount under the bed and removed the stocker from the cab, need some trick ideas on what to do with the hole where the factory neck came through was thinkn about just afixing the factory cap to the hole but lemme know what yall think

I like that idea; planning on doing it myself. Give the look of a factory tank from the outside.

I had been considering this vs welding in a plate to cover it up. Seems like it would be easy to do, and seal up too.

has anyone ever tried to plumb pipes from an underbed tank to the stock filler, might look good rather than having 2 filler locations if you don't shave the one on the cab.

1970greenc10, that is an idea that I have been thinking about for when I finally get to build mine. Exhaust pipe welded to the original fill without a gasket and bent down through the floor and back to a tank. I think it would be the best of both worlds.

I like covering it up but the coolest thing Ive seen is putting the new filler behind the bedside turn signal on the outside.

I've thought about doing the same thing myself when I get around to the gas tank. I think the main issue would be with flex, I would guess there would be quite a bit of flex between the upper cab area to the back of the bed. I could be wrong.

I've thought about keeping the filler for aesthetics and adding one behind the sidemarker as well. I think this would give me the best of both worlds also.

Don't remember who it is, but someone had pix of a toolbox (below-rail height) that contained their fuel tank/cell. Seems as if it also had their air tank and valves for their suspension. I don't have the air ride but putting the tank in a locking box in the bed, essentially close to the OEM location should be an easy putt. If you have a tonneau cover on the bed, nothing would show, but if you didn't, it still wouldn't show unless you're looking into the bed. Spare tire could still be in the original location and/or a hitch receiver. Yeah, I know it isn't very imaginative, but it sure is practical and I like it.
