New Guy here... This is the new truck
Hey Guys, New to the site. Just picked up a 1965 SWB Fleetside C10. Has a 350/350 Trans.
It has manual everything. I want to put power disc brakes and power steering. Where I live in south florida, I have a HUGE youpullit down the street from me. I was there the other day to look around and found 2 c10's 1980's with all the front end setups. Think I am going to go that route. A/C a must. I dont have anykind of crazy wish list of parts. I just want it to look decent and drive well. Let me know what you think.... Will I know the pics are a little off. Still messing with the sizes. Things I would like to do right away.... Power steering, brake swap AC gas tank to bed. Last edited by bulldoze76; 11-29-2010 at 10:06 PM. Reason: Put regular sized photos a couple of POSTS BELOW! |

Re: New Guy here... This is the new truck
Looks like a good start to a fun project.
I picked up a complete front crossmember with brake booster/MC setup with the lines and prop valve still attached and stock wheels with good tires for $100. I tried to get the matching rear axle to swap my entire C20 setup, but he didn't want to pull it yet. Swapping the front using 73+ parts is not only easy, but cheap, too. Check the brake upgrade FAQ in the 60-66 forum for the parts and options available.

Re: New Guy here... This is the new truck
I think this might work a little better for pics.
By the way the truck already has the shaved door handles, mirror holes filled, all with metal. I took a magnet over the whole thing. The other owner was pretty good at metal work, did the floors also. But I have had a few mustangs and one of them had the door poppers on a remote. I never really cared for that. Never seem to always work correctly. What are my other options? |

Welcome to the forum
Looks like a decent truck to work with. I don't have an answer for your door poppers, but I can help you with the PS and PB when you are ready. Links below \/ \/ \/

Re: New Guy here... This is the new truck
This is the first time in a few weeks I have had a chance to mess with the truck. Wanted to start going through the truck to see what it needed. I have decided to lower it down. A 4/6 drop with spindles. Power steering and brakes a must. Before all that I have discovered that the PPPI harness was only partly hooked up. No turn signals, tail lights and so on. Once the wiring harness is hooked up properly I will work on the other mods.
The Second pic is the high low foot switch... Made in taiwan? really? Last edited by bulldoze76; 12-23-2010 at 10:01 PM. Reason: sorry about that |
