New to the Forum from Utah, HI!!

Hey all, I have really enjoyed looking and reading over this forum it seems to have a lot of activity on all these Chevy and GMC trucks.

I currently own a 1964 Chevy Fleetside Longbox, i bought it 2 hours south of Salt Lake City (where i live) for 500 bucks. IT was on a local for sale site and he hadn't gotten any bites on it and reduced the price down so far i couldn't help but jump on it.

I recently done the tires, and i am currently waiting for a gas tank to come in. Passed that i am wondering what i can do to the ride height. I have been looking at a lot of the PB stuff. I just don't wanna change my bed cause i haul my motorcycles a lot, and still wanna be able to. Suggestions anyone?

Anyone also in Utah?

Ya i was taken back when i saw all the red too, it's not going to stay that way at all, i am going for more of a charcoal and silver scheme, maybe a hint of red not sure yet, i wanna Hydro Print my dash to look like wood and then paint the outside like this, even like the rims and ride height of this truck also

This isn't my truck, just a pick of one that had the same paint top and bottom i adjusted the color to what i want mine to be.

Welcome from the left coast, you can do a 3/5 drop and still haul motorcycles, but you need to get the correct springs from people like http://www.earlyclassic.com/ they will still carry a load when low, some others spring rating aren`t as high. By the way you stole that truck...

Thanks for the welcome, that is exactly what i was thinking a 3/5 drop, maybe a frame notch, i was thinking of on the cheap putting in some bags and manually fill them or adjust them.

Definitely - congrats!
That's identical to the truck I drove to school years ago (except for that disco velvet - and I had a 55 BelAir with a blue version of that!)

Re: New to the Forum from Utah, HI!!

Thanks for all the welcomes and compliments.

I just received my new gas tank, gotta find a new sender unit i pulled my other one and it looks like it was trapped in a tar pit since the dinosaur age. then i think i'll replace the fuel line with rubber, does anyone think that is chintzy?

"does anyone think that is chintzy?"
Yeah, I do. Possibly illegal, and definitely unsafe. Run steel fuel line except for about a foot at each end. Steel line is cheap and easy to work with. Probably cheaper than full length rubber line when you're done, too.

If you want to be chintzy, buy a chintzy tubing bender at Harbour freight, and buy a steel line and bend it to fit. Still cheaper in the long run.

Rich just did a whole slew of net surfing and read a huge thread on ECE's 4/6 drop and what an amazing look that ride gives. Everyone is raving about the company and product, thanks for the link and info. I may go that route even if i have to do a bit of a c notch as to not bottom out.
