Smile 1971 c-10 layed out.

Hello everyone I am new to this site and I wanted to ask some beginner questions about bagging the truck that I am about to purchase. I am 16 and my dads friend is going to sell me a FULLY restored all original 1971 swb c-10 with two tone and all moldings. I wanted to bag this truck and make it lay frame to 1 inch off the ground. I know what a z is and what cnotches are but I was just wondering what will I have to do? I have access to a welding machine and my mom works at a machine shop (secretary) lol. I have some pretty sick ideas for this truck. Any pictures and help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-DJ
P.s. It is a lwb he converted to swb
(in these pictures it's still lwb)

Would it change your mind if some of us pleaded with you not to chop the truck up? To each their own but hate to see a perfect truck get mangled!

Re: 1971 c-10 layed out.

how is bagging getting mangled?

anywho, thats one hell of a start for your project. if you want to lay frame, dropmember up front or a 3" z with drop spindles, 4 link the rear and your good to go. of course there are other ways like a full backhalf but from a price range and simplicity, those are your best options.

I have the least intent to mangle it. My mom wont let me get a project truck because she has self esteem issues so ima get this one to work on.
Its gunna be a long process, i dont get my license untill Feb 02 so i will have time to get it looking nice before it goes back on the road

Re: 1971 c-10 layed out.

I think that truck would look sick if you left it looking as stock as possible when you bag it. Then everyone would think it was all original until you hit the switches and it hit the ground.
