Indepent Front Suspension by Scott's H R

Just a quick note about Justins IFS kit from Scotts Hot Rod & Customs.

We picked up ALL the parts from Justin as PROMISED from the G G show in Scottsdale and let me tell you they are quality parts, and HEAVY DUTY!!

For the first time builders this IFS kit is as simple as reading a level and a tape measure you will be surprised how easy this kit is to install.

This will be the third type of IFS I will be using, the first one is on my 55 GMC is a Mll, and it has been a daily driver since 1993 wore out once and replaced all the used up pieces.

The next one is the Dodge Dakota which is on my 53, with 1500 miles it is heavy duty and rides and feels much better than the Mll kit I have on my 55 GMC. Both of these trucks have Bilstine shocks on all four corners and I can feel the diference in the ride and handeling, with the Dodge suspension, being a better handeling truck.

The extended cab truck that has the Scott's kit is a ways from being on the road but I will keep you all posted as to the progress.

Pics to follow, (I forgot the camera) yesterday

Is there a build thread that tells about the Dodge front end? I just bought a '53 and am looking for something better than stock. Thanks.

I would look at Scotts first if you are going to put a lot of miles on your truck

apparently preferred vendors are heavily guarded. Got to keep them happy or they may not keep paying $$ to the site!

Thanks for stepping in and offering to resolve his issues Justin. This is the kind of customer service that we can all appreciate.

You certainly have my attention. Thats the kind of customer service that counts. The only problems the can fix are the ones they know about. I have a 57 GMC that I would like to have IFS on. What are the trade offs with the Scotts Hot Rods and the Camaro set up a lot of guys talk about?

Re: Indepent Front Suspension by Scott's H R

I have to literally laugh out loud at my post being deleted.

Heaven forbid someone give a informational review of a product. I gave details of my unhappiness which where hard facts, and you delete that and leave only an opinion. You are a top notch admin.

I talked to Justin multiple times of which he told me the same things. It was a 88-91 rack and that I must have put the front end together wrong for it to burn bushings. It obviously is not a 88-91 rack I have. I assembled the front end with quality bushings the same way as I did before and it has finally held up. Keep in mind I changed the bushings 3 times before the truck had 500 miles on the OD with the ones scott's stocks.

I asked Justin in a phone call about the caster, he said it was built in. I found out after the truck was put together when it was on the alignment machine, that it infact had ZERO caster, so I had to shim the arms what I'd consider to be excessive.

I talked to Justin before I ordered the front end and told him I was laying my running board on a 255/35/20 tire and I need lots of travel. He told me his front end would be fine. I got his front end, installed it, and didnt get the travel advertised. I call him and he says quote" You didnt tell me you needed it setup for max travel". So I sat back and

so how long will it take for this post to be deleted....and the clock starts now...9:34pm central time.

Your post was reported as abusive and I responded accordingly. If you have an issue with a vendor, address it where it belongs rather than in someones post. If you have a concern with my performance, please contact Josh the site owner.

nah, it will stay.. you however will not. Trolling, creating a pissing match with staff and being a general nuisance = temporary suspension. Please review the site rules and adjust the attitude before posting again.
Thank you!

I'm a new kid on the block here. I'm use to putting together bagged old caddys, but I just got off the phone a few hours back with Justin and was very impressed with how much time he took with me and walking me thru the install. I will be ordering a front and back kit. Thanks again Justin

cajundragger

do you have a post of your installation of your kit ?

maybe with pictures it would help to find why you have those problems with your kit ??

But for sure it will be better to talk about this on your own post .

But i think that its ok to talk about a problem on a forum because it might help other people also . and normaly the sellers help to fix the problem faster
But in respect of everybody

By the way i dont know cajundragger or Scottshotrods this is only my opinion but i had to write it

Sorry solidaxel for my intrusion on your post .

By the way nice project you have

I worked for air ride/ ride tech for some time, recently I decided to make the move to work for scotts. Now I left air ride on good terms and would not have made the move to a company I did not believe in. justin takes alot of pride in the work we do and customers satisfaction I have seen him on countless occasions now remember every thing about a customer just by there name which is rather impressive expecially as busy as justin is. If there are any concerns or issues I assure you we handle them all accordingly. Please feel free to email or call us any time.
