two-tone with no moldings???
this is my truck when it actually looked good (but full of bondo)... I'm about to start fixing rust/bondo spots and prepping for paint, but some of my moldings are screwed up and missing
what do you think it would look like if I painted it the same two-tone but welded in the molding holes and left the moldings off ????

Re: two-tone with no moldings???
I think it would look unfinished. I like moldings on these trucks and if you're going for the resto look, I would definitely leave them on and make em black or woodgrain in the middle like they are suppose to be.

Re: two-tone with no moldings???
Everybody that has one of these trucks has a unique opinion of what looks good: Original, modified, short, long, lowered, raised, etc, etc.. Just make your truck into what you want and you'll be pleased with the result, and enjoy doing the effort and result in doing so.

Re: two-tone with no moldings???
I think its more trouble to fill in all the holes from the trim. If you think about it, your going to spend hours and hours in prepping the body. Removing rust, fixing all the bad bondo areas, ect, with that much work why not make all that time spent worth it. I would go back with all new trim. Sure it might be a hit to the wallet but it will add so much to the value to your truck. Think long term, your truck is getting more rare everyday. At this point its an investment, do it right..... Just my opinion....

Re: two-tone with no moldings???
How about a pinstripe with accent color on dividing line.

Re: two-tone with no moldings???
yeah.... I've been considering this for a while now, but I think that my truck would look alot better with the moldings
what kind of paint do I use to paint the black back on the moldings??? I tried rustoleum to paint the letters back on my grille and it flaked off in no time

Re: two-tone with no moldings???
i say keep the trim it looks good, and if you use rattle cans you gotta make sure you have a clean surface, scuff it up just a bit that will give the paint something to "grab" on to..
