Fuel tank filler question

Hey guys I was going threw Pics and i noticed on the the 1973 to 79 trucks the filers on pass and driver side. Then Some i see have fuel door's It odd Can some one help me clear this up thanks

73-78 had round hole fillers. If a 73-78 out there has doors, they were either added for a cleaner, smoother look, or the bed has been replaced with a newer one.

Some might be dual tanks, and you just saw one side. My 73 had a passenger side fuel inlet. Some think if you run out of gas it is better to have the filler on the passenger side, so you are not out in traffic filling the tank on the highway. Others say it is easier/quicker to fill the tank at the pump on the driver's side. Most vehicles now have the filler on the driver's side for convenience.
