A date which will live in infamy

Let us not forget Dec. 7 1941.

Thinking of our WWII, and Pearl Harbor Veterans today.

Thank you to all who do and have served. OP please keep the post positive. It would suck to have to edit and or lock a thread meant to honor our military members on this day.

i hope the younger generation understands and keeps on remembering.it doesn't seem as important in the news and media as it was along time ago.i don't want to see it pushed aside....it meant to me..that if you mess with us your gonna get an as$whoopin.

Your right they never mention it on the news, history channel does a good job of remembering. I cant speak for everyone or even my genaration, but I personall will not forget this day. i am a big history buff, and a patriot. I have the ut most respect for all service men and women. from the Revolution to the present day.

I was somewhere else, and moved here.

Dec. 7 was also my paternal grandmother's birthday, but she had is first, 1912. I really miss her, she experienced so much of our history and modernization. It's hard to imagine a life that went from horse drawn wagons and both World Wars to Moon landings and cell phones.

Re: A date which will live in infamy

I was born on this day and when I was little I was told its also pearl harbor day, I was little probably 5 maybe 6, I don't know why we don't have a day of mourning or something to show respect. I kinda sorta had today off, I'm on baggage detail cause our troops in fort stewart are coming home from iraq. My room mate came in a few days ago, he's cool and I was askin him questions about iraq and did he get to kill people and all sorts of stuff. I asked did you bring any cool stuff back and he said all I got is this hadji dip. I was like a lil kid askin a teacher all sorts of questions. I asked him I want to deploy and why aren't they sending me over seas? He said you may not get deployed and he said your like the only one that I have talked to that wants to go over there he asked do you want to go for the money I said no, I just want to its like a learning experience and seeing different people and seeing a new place. I seen the IR flag its pretty cool. The only thing I was scared about him was his last name, his name is brawley and I watched dragon ball z when I was younger and I told him bout that and he laughed at me for that. He's like one real cool relaxed guy. We also went to aberdeen proving grounds in maryland at diff times, we talked about a few sergeants and he knew only 2 out like 7 or 8 sergeants.

Re: A date which will live in infamy

I was also born on Dec 7th.. although decades after the attack at pearl harbor.

I think its because of that, I know as much as i do about it... when someone asks me my birthday, i usually respond "Pearl Harbor Day"... sadly most dont know what day that actually was... even though that day triggered a chain of events that changed our entire country, and the world.
