Re: which transmission

My 68 lwb came with a 400 which i thought only had a short tail. Did not know it had different ones like the 350 had over time.

Re: which transmission

If your truck had a long shaft tranny installed at one point, then your info is correct that this is what you need to locate. However, as stated above, the original TH350s in the 69 - 72 trucks were in fact, short tailshaft assemblies.

Re: which transmission

If you have a 3 speed manual now and you want to keep the same driveshaft you need a short TH350.

Re: which transmission

I'm in sort of the same situation. I have a 350 long water pmup motor with a turbo 350. The tailshaft measures 9". Is that a long tail or short tail?

I have a driveshaft from a 68 6 cyl 3 speed manual trans truck. Should that fit my transmission? It doesn't seem to go in too easily.

Thanks!

Re: which transmission

TruckDude are you still looking for a transmission? I have a 350 short tail in my garage taking from my buddys 72 C10. I was going to rebuild it and see if anyone local needed it due to shipping. Your about hour and half from me. Brandon
