Re: disc Brake upgrade Hose

Mine’s a 1960 with a 1975 front suspension. When I did the swap I cut hose locating holes in the 1960 frame in the same spot they were on the 1975 frame, then cut the half-hex portion with a triangle file and a lot of patience. Then I used hoses for the 1975 application and mounted them up like stock:

Yea i already looked at your pics. some one did the upgrade to my truck before i bought it. They used a much shorted hose with a banjo fitting on it. The original had a pipe nipple so i need a new one and i was going to take this opp to upgrade to power brakes and route my hoses differently. thanks

Re: disc Brake upgrade Hose

Here's a shot looking straight up from the bottom on the passenger side. The bracket was formed on the hose when I bought it, and I believe they're a locating/anti-rotation tab on the bottom edge that fits in a hole in the control arm. That's probably what is showing in the lower left of the photo. The bracket is attached to the control arm with a bolt and nut. I thought perhaps the control arm was simply threaded, but I can see a nut in the photo. I'm not sure if I added the nut, or there's a weld nut permanently attached to the arm:

Here's a shot of the mounting bracket and attaching bolt:

And here's a picture of the hose and bracket. I'm sure the piece that's punched out below the mounting hole is what forms the anti-rotation tab.

Re: disc Brake upgrade Hose

There is an existing hole in the 65 frame. It is oval shaped but the hose end will fit through. You can see the hole just behind the idler arm in the 2nd picture.

Re: disc Brake upgrade Hose

What do you guys think is best approach on the 62 C10 frame??

I'm pretty sure it's boxed where Mark took his hoses through the frame from the looks of the pics.

TIA ~ rg
