i was planning to get some body work done for my birthday, but with how long this shop has had my truck, i dont even want to think about how long another place my dad uses would take to do a little body work.

so, i'm thinking about either a performance suspension components front end kit and rear swaybar?
-or-

dynomax ceramic shortie headers and a set of hooker aerochambers?

if i get the suspension stuff, i'll have all of that done, cept the bigger front bar, which i can get from a junk yard.

but i also need/want the headers and new mufflers.

but i also want my truck to handle great!

I say suspension but if you need some shaving done I wouldn't midn doing it for you. I've got my drip rails and pan done and I'm gonna do my stake pockets and mirror holes this weekend.

i wouldnt mind you doing it

but you're kinda far away.

i was wanting a big dent/scrape fixed on the passanger front fender, mirrors, and drip rails shaved.

Do you have a problem with your headers hitting the ground? If so and its hard to avoid it in your driving situations, then I say do the exhuast. But if you dont really have a problem with it hitting the ground then do the front end and rear sway bar.

My full lengths were [are] that far off the ground on my 78, and I was fine with it! :p

As for the rear sway bar, I would forget about it. Its only going to help if you dont push your truck hard. If you really drive thr truck, its going to hurt your performance. Dont ask for spacifics, I dont remember. Thats just the info I remember from the long discousion we had over them. They cause the rear to break loose quicker or somthing like that.

i know what your talking about, it's not that it causes the rearend to break loose quicker, its just the way it breaks loose.

the same thing happens with porsche's

My vote goes to finish the suspension. The front-end kit and anti-sway bar(s) will make an amazing difference. Who cares about the headers being 3" from the ground!

they barely scrape when i drive, i'm carefull. i asked my dad how many times he scraped tonight driving it home and he said 3

anyway, i made a new thread, i'm thinking bout asking for gears for my bday instead

I remember when my dad drove my truck.

Man, I would cringe the entire time.

Personally, I think you would be happier with the suspension components, but do what you want.

It would make a considerable difference.

If your truck is like mine and most others this old---The bushings are weak and hardly existent. A kit from Energy Suspension or PST would be sweet!

*Edit* Mainly, the front-end would feel much tighter and the truck would feel more composed/easier to control when driving. Especially, in the corners!
