Help clear up some confusion - Please!
Does anyone know what the wire dia. for stock 1/2 ton springs is compared to 3/4 ton springs? I have a set of originals from my C-10 with one cut coil (My Bad - too low. I got a set from a board member, put them in and had all sorts of problems. The originals caliper at about 0.740 (less than 3/4"), while the replacements caliper about 0.780 (well over 3/4"). Could they be 3/4 ton springs? I WANT TO RIDE!, I'M TIRED OF FRONT-END WORK.
Please help my state of confusion! Thanks to all Toby P.S. After much searching, I found a usable upper control arm bump stop from an early Camaro. Found it at NDP in Charlotte. Too bad they don't list parts for our trucks. Still, nice to have that quality store in the Charlotte area. Finally! |

I'm thinking there is more than one factory spring. You would certainly notice the difference going from a 6 to a BB, for example.

best way to test springs is to pop them in and take a ride// it's not rocket science ,you're overthinkin things

ttt
Finally got the front end back together with stock length springs. Rides decent, much more tire clearance. Level within 1/4" but still needs alignments. Drove it abound ten miles for a shakedown. GOOD TO GO. Thanks to all for responses. |
