s-10 cab mount question- new poly bushings
I purchased new energy suspension poly bushings for the cab mounts, but here is my very dumb question. Do the metal caps that went over the rubber bushings on the s-10 go over these poly bushings or do I just use them without the metal caps.
If anyone used the poly bushing on the s-10 swap and has a decent picture of them installed that would be tons of help! |

PM me your email and i will send you pictures of my cab with the energy suspension bushings. I just finished them. You can post the pictures in the forum once you get them for everyone to see if you would like.

Re: s-10 cab mount question- new poly bushings
Vintage,
you will need to reuse the metal spacers. I cleaned mine up with a wire brush and sprayed them with some rust stop. Your cab mounting bolt will run thru each end of the spacer. You will need some flat washers as well to stop the bolt from sliding thru. Make sure the larger spacer with the flat side goes ontop and sits against the cab mount supports. Here is a pic of mine. Hope this helps brian

Cheap fix - clean the middle up that is rusted and weld in a plate
or go get a set at a U-Pull yard I think all blazers and s10 will be the same or Check with your gm parts and services and see if they can get your new ones |

Re: s-10 cab mount question- new poly bushings
i checked with my GM dealership. If I remember right, i think that a new set of spacers were like 80 bucks. I agree with glowins, hit the yard, they should be an easy find. You will definetly need a impact and some nut buster to break the bolts loose.

Re: s-10 cab mount question- new poly bushings
for the front I see how the holes in the cab floor go through the bushings and mounts. for the rear of the cab there are 2 small holes, do I just enlarge that area to accept a single bolt to go through the rear bushing and mount?

Yes. For mine I used the inner shackle mount hole and enlarged it. You'll also need to make a spacer to get your mount out of the body support channel. You'll see what I mean when you put the mount up there.
