I have a 74 4x4 with an auto trans and 205 transfer case. I'm thinking of swapping cabs with one from a 85 2 wheel drive with auto trans. The 74 is a high hump and the 85 is a low hump.

Does anyone know if the hump from the 74 will bolt onto the floor pan of the 85 after cutting out the low section, or can the low hump floor work on the 4x4 without a body lift?

You should be able to make the high hump work in the 2wd cab.. otherwise I believe a body lift would be required if you stuck with the low hump.

Only way low hump would work is with a body lift. I think it was around 80 or so they stopped the bolt in type hump. The 74 would have bolt on hump though, so you could transfer that to the 85 with some modification.

It will most likely be missing the transfer case hump on the 2wd also.

I have done this before and I had to cut the entire floor hump section from my rusted out cab and weld it in the donor cab. These cabs were 84 and a 85. So I'm sure you'd need to cut out as much of yours as you needed to clear the tcase like mentioned.

Pretty much the answers I expected. Just wanted to make sure before committing to take the 85 cab. I won't have time to do the swap until spring.

with the NP205......I'm pretty sure you don't need the high hump.

Im thinking about doing this same thing. 2wd cabs are easier to come by with lots less rust.
