Emmisions / Smog / DEQ / Hoses

I've been searching the forums....

The reason I started the thread here is because it's particular to these older trucks that don't require any inspections for conformance to Emmisions / Smog / Oregon DEQ.

From the other threads I read; many of the replies got off track with environmental laws and inspections. - this does not apply to Oregon with this generation of trucks.

I have pulled a 350 GM Goodwrench motor from a 1979 Chevy Suburb.
I'm putting it in my 66.

I need to get rid of the hose clutter and was hoping someone knew what was the best route;

I have a few different areas of concern.

First,

Should I plug-up (cap-off) the hoses that went from the Carburetor to the Charcoal Canister?
.

.
More pics and questions to come.
Thanks

Does anyone know where to go with these two stems?

Re: Emmisions / Smog / DEQ / Hoses

the charcoal canister needed vacuum to pull fumes from the gas tanks.

one of those stems was for power brakes, one was probably pcv valve
just plug them.

the green outlined tube goes to the brake booster and the red tube goes to the transmission modulator valve if neither are used just cap them off as for the emissions canister just cap them off

Thanks guys,
The Pvc is here in the front.
So, yes, bama63 is correct regarding it being for the auto tran that was in the donor.

fortunately; I took a bunch of before pictures, I just missed some toward the back of the engine.

Re: Emmisions / Smog / DEQ / Hoses

I did keep the power brake booster and master cylinder off the donor to add to my 66 this summer.
So for now, I'll just plug them both.

Thanks again.

Re: Emmisions / Smog / DEQ / Hoses

Obviously, my future to do list is to get a different manifold and carb.
For now, I'm just trying to get back up and running.
I'll post back once I fire it back up and all is well. - hopefully in the next two weeks.

Re: Emmisions / Smog / DEQ / Hoses

How about the EGR Valve?

Should I install an EGR block off plate?
I'm starting to think the EGR Valve is faulty and it's what's causing my idle issues.

Hey Mike !!
I would just put a plug on the end of the EGR valve for know if bad ... Unless you have a block off plate already with gasket ... Since it sounds like your gonna change intakes anyway ... Lookin Good !!!! The parts rig looked pretty nice .. Still have ?? Jeff
P.S. It was Nice to meet you !!
