I have a 1978 ford e-350 motorhome OG some would say, i say GHETTO. anyways. she needs a fuel pump but its a real pain can i go mechanical low pressure, somthing like that autozone or checker special.

I don't understand the question. Doesn't the Ford have a mechanical pump now? Or did Ford already have EFI in 78?

ok the ford does have a mechanical fuel pump now and it is not working. and it is in a spot where i would have to pull out quite a bit of **** just to replace the pump. question was i would it be ok and work if i put in a aftermarket electric (like one from the zone)

you'd have to rerun lines, it be cheaper and easier to replace with same

duct tape gets sticky and may unravel when used to hold in mechanical fuel pumps. I suggest a coat hangar reinforcement.

ok hanger is rapped and twisted to tourque specs then bonded with JBWeld
Any other insights would be appreciated
