Plan on taking out the rear slider in the Hornet today while I change the brakes on my DD. Anybody know of an easy way one man can remove this without cutting the rubber?????????

I used flat head screwdrivers. Shoved them in and got it to make the turn. Once you do that, its just a matter of working both screwdrivers around to a point where you can pull it out!

putty knives, I've removed w/s same way, use about 4 of them

a spray bottle with lots of soapy water to soften rubber, and a couple of table knives to work the glass out. old money.

If it is an 80's truck, then take the insert out of the rubber seal and then slowly push the windoe and rubber out of the cab. The isert is just a rubber rib to stiffen the seal and is easily removed. If it is older than that and it has no insert, then use a couple of stiff putty knives and a mix of soapy water to lubricate the rubber and push the rubber out of the cab from the inside of the truck

Thanks 79...........It took me about (2) minutes after I read your post to get the window out. Now it is just cluttered up my garage. Another thing that I have to get rid of. Thanks to the rest of you guys that chimed in. I spent the better part of the day changing out the brake pads on my DD. My mechanic wanted $ 800 to change the pads and re-surface the rotors (he also does my state inspections). I changed out the pads all the way around for $ 60 bucks since he said my rotors were passable.........................

it is rarely worth turning rotors on most vehicles these days. you can usually buy a brand new pair with bearing races installed for a bit more than the cost of turning them. check the price at a parts store prior to getting a brake job

I bought some new rotors a while back and ended up having the original rotors turned. It seems the Chinese rotors were not true and caused problems with my front-end on a 97 Silverado.

I havent ran into that problem yet.

When in a parts store and looking at parts, my plan is to do it only once and not learn from my mistake of purchasing a cheap part. Just my way of doing things. Turn the original or purchase of the same quality---no Chinese, Taiwanese, or Vietnese for me, when I plan on it protecting my life or getting me to work.
