S10 frame question
So I was reading on the 'net last night about usung a s10 frame under the 55-59 body. They said you can use camaro control arms to bring the wheels farther out ...is this right? Has anyone done this? Do you know if the camaro arms are a direct bolt on to the s10 frame????

Re: S10 frame question
I was going to do this to one of my s-10 frames but there is alot of fab work to do this. It is not a direct bolt in! I really like the s-10 frame but it is alittle narrow. You can still use it thou and upgrade your brake to the larger corvette and use tubular a-arms that will push it out. I have 2 59's and still will be trying to put a s-10 under one of them.

Re: S10 frame question
Are the tubular arms expensive?? Where would you buy them?
I am back and forth between frames, but will hopefully make up my mind in early January...that is when I will start on mine. |

Re: S10 frame question
Ask any of the vendors if you can get a deal on them but if memory serves me right they were very expensive and they can make them any width you like?

Re: S10 frame question
Air Ride Technologies makes custom A-arms for the S10 frame, 74-81 camaro upper a-arms are direct bolt in, check Speedway Motors, they come in various lengths to push out the upper ball joint

Re: S10 frame question
Maybe I am confused but I have a 76 camaro subframe that I took all the parts of and the a-arms where bigger than the s-10. I would have had to move the lower control arm bracket back 2-3". I will double check because if it is a direct bolt in I will install them on my s-10 frame tomorrow.

Re: S10 frame question
Question on S10 subframe, what style S10,2wd? I have a 51 Chevy 3/4 ton, that I just changed over to 1/2ton straight axle with 79 Camaro spindles. Kicking around about eventually upgraded to an S10 subframe. Thanks for any help or info.
