info on np203 part time conversion

im looking to do the part time conversion ion my np203 case and need to know what i need and how to do it

also do i have to change to manual lockers on the front

Yes, you are going to need the manual hubs and the part time kit. There are tons of articles on this subject on the net. Here is one of them...

You'll be glad you did it. The 79 pictured in my avatar to the left had it done by a P.O., and the gas mileage was better than the other 79 (full time 4wd) I had before it. Make sure you get some good lockouts too.

I read some where that the 203 could have a oiling problem with out the chain turning and all the time ,is this true?

I've read evidence on the contrary. Some say you need to "use" the 4WD every once in a while, but then again, some say it's not necessary.

As has been said, you will see a HUGE difference in MPG. One of the best mods I ever did to the K5. HUGE difference.
