What am I missing?
Was just cleaning up some wires and I got to wondering what these clamp-like things on me passenger side inner fenders were....are they like auxiliary battery tray clamps or something?

Re: What am I missing?
Do they make aftermarket ones that can fit there? or is it better just to scour ebay for them?

Re: What am I missing?
If you don't use the factory jack I think you would have to improvise a hold down clamp arrangement. You can check out pics of the factory setup online, or I can post a pic of mine if you like. The factory clamp has a ridge in it to match the factory jack. There is also a long factory jack handle that goes along side the jack under the clamp alongside the fender wall. I was just missing the jack handle for my 83 so I bought one to have a "factory correct" setup, but I have never used the factory jack in 8 years of ownership.

Re: What am I missing?
Oh, I forgot to say that I plan to keep a regular bottle jack and handle in this homemade storage unit behind my seat back.

Re: What am I missing?
That's a clever idea with the rack behind the seat....but another question....is the 77 jack the same as all of the 80's truck jacks? cause on ebay I see a lot of 83 and 86s but will they still fit with the factory clamps?
Thanks
