Lowering Questions
I am going to be lowering my 69 C20 in the next couple of weeks. I have sourced a pair of Jeep rear coils and was researching my best options for the front. What do people recommend for the best ride in the front. Cut stock springs, Accord V6 springs, etc? Also, I have never cut my own coils before. Could someone post a pic of a marked coil so I can see right where to cut them?

True, they will lower the truck,... but I think your load capacity of the truck will suffer. I like purchasing drop springs designed for these trucks. They come in all sizes up to a 6" drop. Depending on how much the Jeep springs lower your truck, will effect the need for rear drop shocks. I also like using drop springs up front,... but cutting the stock springs is fine if you don't cut too much. I use this formula: 1/2 coil cut = 1" of drop. This is an approximate. I don't recommend cutting over 1-1/2 coils, because this will give you an approx. 3" drop. Also 3" drop springs is the max you can do up front and still be able to re-align the front suspension. Front drop shocks need to be considered also.

Re: Lowering Questions
Alway cut the bottom of the front springs.
I use a cut-off wheel in a air or electric grinder. The red line drawn on the left spring illustrates where to cut "1 full coil". The hardest part of cutting coils is safely removing and reinstalling them. Another important issue is aligning the upper spring "pigtail" in the pocket in the frame. They are real easy to get out of position, which can result in an unlevel ride height.

Re: Lowering Questions
Im running jeep springs/1 coil cut from front springs, doesnt ride bad like alot of folks say..
But the jeep springs wont let you haul much of anything heavy (over100lbs or so) I *may* cut another 1/2 round of the coil off but im worried that if I do that they wont be able to align it...
