New to the site, 72 Blazer

Been on here for about a week now, researching and browsing. After I sold my 2006 Dodge Ram Mega Cab. Well I finallay pulled the trigger on a 72 K5. Has had some work done on it. It is not perfect but a good driver and I have something to work on again which has been a while. Truck is a 4 speed with a SB 400 in it and 3.73 gears. I picked it up Friday night before the weather turned on us here in the midwest. Major test for the truck was getting it home with a 5 Hour drive. the truck did great and amazingly I was able to get 11mpg out of it at 65-70mph. I have attached a picture with more to come, the weather was way to nasty by the time we got home and this weekend.

Welcome to the board and that looks like a very nice Blazer! We need some more pics though. Congrats on 11 mpg, I'm sure you could get a little more out of it. I'm still trying to get to 10 on mine!

Re: New to the site, 72 Blazer

Thanks, Yeah I am not worried about the MPG since it wont be my DD. Just really suprised me when I checked it. Truck has new style seats in the front with the original in the rear that are black right now. He gave me a bunch of parts and a complete set of original seats front and back that just need to be recovered. Which I plan on doing in white to match the door panels. I will try and get some more pictures this week. Hopefully the Temps get above zero so I can clean it back up from the road trip.

Ya, looked like you guys were getting some of the brunt of that Global Warming there. I envy you though, I'd be out burning all my gas playing in 4WD. If I wasn't stuck on a ship that is...

To hold you all over on the pics, here are a couple of pics of the truck I hand a hand in restoring for the company I work for. We built this for SEMA 06 just sold the truck about a month ago. I wont be going as radical on the Blazer will keep it stock looking with some little personal touches.

Re: New to the site, 72 Blazer

Thanks! we had a good time building that truck. We did a Frame off on it in just 3 months. We had a lot of late nights working on her. Truck was a blast to drive. Still no new pics of the blazer. Still freezing to get it out. Hopefully I will be able to tonight before the snow hits again tomorrow.
