Front brake hose help

I need to buy new front brake hose's. I'm using a 78 front end and a 2.5 drop spindles. The stock 78 hoses will not work. So the question is what will work. And another question where are you guy's mounting the proportioning valve pictures would be helpfull.
Thanks for the help

Re: Front brake hose help

Can’t help with the hose, but I mounted my proportioning valve on the front crossmember below and behind the driver side engine mount. It makes the engine compartment around the master cylinder area look much cleaner. Instead of forming coils in the tubing, I use numerous bends going in different directions to provide flexibility:

Re: Front brake hose help

Why wont the 78 hoses work? I have 75 year model hoses on my truck. The hose goes through the hole there in the frame and the hardline attaches on the other side.

i used 85 suburban hoses since my donor parts came off that. i mounted my p-valve right below the booster on the top of the frame.

Re: Front brake hose help

Thanks for info, The bend of the metal pipe end is not right to bolt up to the caliper I think because of the new 2.5 drop spindle but I'm going to try it again.
Thanks

Re: Front brake hose help

I have 84 front end parts and the lines that I got are bent incorrect as well. Without replacing the stock metal lines you end up with a line that is way too long to install behind the spindel and incorrect for in front of it?? I am going to buy the parts for SS lines and just make them up myself.. Really getting pissed at the stupid stuff latley that keeps popping up. But that is just my CPP parts.. sorry for the rant but they got there last bit of money from ever again. Poor instructions, mising parts, parts that do not fit, and poor machine work on the items that do fit..LOL

If there is a easy fix with some part numbers that are easy to locate would be great.

Re: Front brake hose help

For what it's worth here's an old thread comparing CPP with ECE and GMC Pauls:

Perhaps if the parts CPP is supplying don't fit, one of the other vendors can help out.

Re: Front brake hose help

I bought a new pair of hoses from Napa and they didn't fit, so I had to bend the pipe end to clear the upper ball joint nut. you have to be careful not to crimp the pipe. As for the proportioning valve location I'm going to mount it on the front side of the radiator cross member, gets it out of the engine bay and easy to get to
