Re: What kinda battery are you running?

XS Power D3400. Not really rated in cranking amps, but it does a burst discharge of 3300 amps, and has 67Ah capacity. Spins my mini starter like its cranking a honda.

edit: Mild 350, 9.6:1 compression.

Re: What kinda battery are you running?

Autozone Duralast Gold - dual start batteries for my 454. I am on my third pair in 6 years. Autozone changed them out for free twice - I wonder if they will do it a third time in another two years or so. I don't drive the truck very much, so it is hard to keep a charge on them.

Re: What kinda battery are you running?

ACDelco 786YR 700CCA battery in my suburban. It was bought for my '86 C-10 in winter, early 2006 and have not had a problem yet with it. It has been in three vehicles now.

Re: What kinda battery are you running?

Going to use an Optima red top on the K20. I've been using them for years. Some on the 'net say the quality is no longer there but I would strongly disagree. I had one in my '65 Impala that I'd start maybe once every few months and it would always start right up after priming the carb. Once I went much longer than that and all I had to do was quick start it with a charger and it kept starting right up after that.

Re: What kinda battery are you running?

12 volt

800cca I think, have to check. A good tough battery will keep starters happy and make them long lasting.

The two most common items that keep you parked after stopping are starters and batteries. If you're going to short cut either one make sure you have a charged up cell phone or new shoes. LOL.
