Tilt wheel

I found a used stock Tilt steering wheel column and the guy wants $300 plus shipping. Is this a good price? Anything I should be concerned about being used?

Thanks!

Re: Tilt wheel

There is a highly regarded tilt column rebuilder who can give you an as new column for 50% more. I'd search him out.

Re: Tilt wheel

Sounds reasonable but right now I'm seeing them go from 225-250 a lot (plus shipping) I am selling one to a guy locally for 250 and it has a pretty nice wheel on it.

As mentioned, if you're not concerned with originality, a van tilt will fit with minor mods to the length and wiring (they sell an adapter to make it plug and play)

Re: Tilt wheel

72 to 81 chevy/gmc vans.
if you want it to look original in your truck, you want an early unit... till 75 or so. If originality is not top on your list, then a later one will work just as easy, and it has a shorter shifter that doesn't look retarded with a smaller wheel.
