Has anyone ever clipped the front frame? Maybe from the front cab mounts forward? I had a shop do a Z but it ended up being way too much. I would show pics but some might faint.

are you asking about clipping in a replacement clip from the same body style, or from a different vehicle?

either run it, or find another front frame section to do again.

I asked for 3 inches. Then i showed up 2 days later and it was cut to lay with stock arms and spindles..i want to say at least 6 inches. Now there is talk of pancaking the crossmember just to get the motor lower.

Im probably just going to get it back cut it down and run a dropmember.

We make a dropmember that you can weld into a set of 2x4 rails if that's the route you go.

Yea what he said, if you can drop that kinda cash then go DM, but the Z is cheap, and you get the same results minus the nice look of a DM.

No where close to the same result. Z's arent really cheaper either if you have a shop do it.

Laying frame is the only thing a z does.
The dropmember does A LOT more than that.
Correcting geometry, narrowing track with upgraded steering, and it take a few hours to do. Is your time worth nothing? Your skills? Welding equipment and electricity? Shop or yourself, I do not see a properly done Z as being cheap at all. And look what happened to the OP at a shop.... Obviously they didnt have the skills necessary. to complete a proper Z

I was merely stating a opinion here. Mines done correct and so is his weld wise lol. I don't need rack and pinion steering, or narrowed track width.

The quality of the work doesn't look bad so just make them redo it and give you what you asked for.

dont fill bad, i have been bent over by a shop before also. you need to take that hacked up mess back and have it fixed. hopefully they can fix it. looks like you are trying to tuck them 40's. lol. all kindin aside, that looks like a$$.
