Best Drop Shocks

So since I am building my SWB C10 to fool around on the street and it will occasionally see the strip, just to see what it will do, what is the best drop shock out there for a 4/6 drop.

Black Magic from CPP
Toxic Shocks
Belltech
DJM
McGaughys
Billstein
Any others?

For the most part it will be cruising around the street and I don't want a full drag race Compeition engineering shock in the front and QA1s out back but then again I am open to suggestions.

Re: Best Drop Shocks

I've had good luck with Belltech and KYB shocks.
I hear Bilstein's are top quality shocks also.
(I've never had a set to try)

Re: Best Drop Shocks

I have bilsteins on my bagged setup. I ran KYB and Monroe's before and there is night and day difference between them and Bilstein.

Below is the link to Race Car Dynamics page on the Bilstein shock lengths. CPP is the best place to buy them. I am running the 55-060's in the front and 55-080's in the rear. I had to make custom upper shock brackets to give me the compressed and extended dimensions of the rear shocks.

Re: Best Drop Shocks

KYB's ride like a dream on my '69 w/ a 4.5/6" drop.

Re: Best Drop Shocks

I've been driving on my Belltech Nitro Drop 2 shocks for three days now and I like them. Nice and smooth on a 5/5 drop with low profile tires.

Re: Best Drop Shocks

I have Bilstein adjustable coilovers on my BMW 5 series, and let me tell you, they are absolutely insane! I have used KYB and H&R or Eibachs, and they get the job done, but I have to second the Bilstein comment...they are pretty awesome
