Can anyone tell me the length of parking brake cable..

I am looking for a LR parking brake cable (Comes out of drum). Went to carquest and they had a couple diff. lengths. Without taking mine off measuring etc I was wondering if someone had theirs apart or knew the length right off.

1968 C-10 LWB Coilsprings 2wd

I don't know the measurement off hand, but I need to replace mine and only found one from LMC truck. Maybe the measurements are on their website.

Will look at lmc, let me know kidd, if you take yours off before would you caare to get me some measurements (would rather order local, just easier for me)

I ended up with several lenghts of stainless steel cable left over from work and it looked to be the same diameter, and since I too needed a new E brake cable, I made my own. I measured how long my old wore out one was, then I got some 5/16 round stock and carefully drilled a hole through it, stuck the cable through and then was undecided, so I used JB Weld to hold the ends on, then I made another and welded the end of the cable to the round stock. I don't know yet if they will work, but I don't see why not.

Sorry, I misread your OP. I am trying to remember where I got the cables your looking for. I'm thinking Inline tube, but that don't sound right once I said it.

Ok, thanks, Ive dealt with inline tube before, great product from what ive seen..

Really wanna buy locally (bought a cable from orielly and it was too short! its easier to return it to store rather than try to send it back via email/ups etc etc etc)

Mine is a short wheel base, but I think those cables are the same. I have mine off right now so I will go measure them once it warms up a little. Unlike Oreilly's website the napa website actually gives you the measurement. I will let you know in a little bit.

My parking brake cable has been cut off, so I can't garuntee that its the correct lenght still, otherwise I'd get you a measurement.

The long one is for a leaf spring truck and the short one is for coil spring truck.

My short wheel base coil spring cables are:
29 1/2" outside casing
40" cable
This should be what you need.
