Re: some pics of my first build

My bad its actually Infiniti's Liquid Platinum. I knew it was liquid something. As fas as the suspension goes. For the time it will be stock. I have a long way to go, I need all new suspension parts and front end parts. I have a 97 vortec roller 5.7 that is in the garage being put together a little bit at a time and I am going to be finishing up the trim pieces a little at a time. I wont be putting the trim on the sides and havent decided what to do on the tailgate as to whether or not to put the trim back on it, Havent decided yet. The interior will be done in black with the same silver inside on the metal. And since its finally being painted,, Then no it wont be a rat rod. By the way. I am not painting it. My brother is. He was supposed to do it several years ago but we all know how that goes. He has finally had time to get on it and get it done and I am very thankfull. He does do a super job and I wish I had just a touch of his talent when it comes to body and paint work. I do more of the mechanical stuff.

What did the filler door and pocket come from? The part on the bedside where you stick the gas nozzle. Thanks. Looks real nice.

Re: some pics of my first build

Thanks yall, The filler door came from a early 80's Chevy pickup. Cut it out at the local pull a part with a pair of tin snips. It was a pain in the butt. Would have been a lot quicker and neater with a cordless sawzaw. But it turned out nice anyway. My Brother made the inside panel for the inside of the bed. Very time consuming.

Re: some pics of my first build

Beautiful work. If you have the pix, you should put the fuel door project in the "how to" section". Your work is exactly what I am doing in the future. I have the same fuel door (and got it the same way! LOL!). You don't even realize how much help you are with those pix. Question. Did you have much difficulty routing the filler tube? Got any pix of that work? Just hopin'. Again beautiful work

Re: some pics of my first build

70custom10nut, I dont have any pics of the filler tube yet but whenit gets done i will get some. As far getting it to line up it should line up pretty good. If you would like you could go see it seeing as how you're here in columbia. Or you can pm me and we can ride over. I can tell you if you have an original 72 blazer tank you will need to take it to the midas and get a 1-1/2" piece of tail pipe and have it expanded to the size of the filler tube from the truck and then have them braze or solder it to the tank filler tube. If you need a hand with it let me know I know right where you can take it to get it done.

Did you also use the fill neck from the same 80's truck as the door? Just wondering if you had to modify it?

If I remember correctly the fuel filler tube came from a 80ish model burb. The plastic piece that connects the fuel filler tube to the door came from the same truck as the door.

Thanks redhead69, I cant wait till shes finished.
