Japanese Mini '72 C10 (cool video)

Cool video of a Japanese Kei car disguised as a mini '72. The nerdy host screws up and calls it an S10, but it's still cool. I would drive one as a commuter if I could.

That is awesome. Did you notice the Chevy Bowtie was backwards as well?

Those little Japanese trucks are so fun to drive. The roof of my buddies Isuzu Carry only comes up to the hood of my truck:

I cracked up laughing when he zoomed in on the honda emblem...

At least it looks cool from the outside. 46 hp? -Interesting about the emblems being too sharp to import, never heard of that before.

Re: Japanese Mini '72 C10 (cool video)

What I can't believe is that between both threads and all the posts we made about these trucks..... Nobody took a run at the name of the company.

Guess I will go first then!

Dream. Factory. Blow. 3 simple words that when grouped in different ways have different meanings. Such as:

"Factory Blow" - this could mean factory made cocaine. or... it could mean a blow factory. I'll leave it at that.

Then there's "Dream Factory" Blow. This way it reads much more like industrial grade cocaine manufacturing. But it also sounds like a special product/service available in Thailand.

Oh man. When an American sized guy finally gets himself inside the thing he needs no seat belts as there is no room to move. He would be like a saltine cracker in a can if he has a headon accident.

They actually get up and go quite well, well atleast they will blow the doors off my 4cyl daily driver S10. But they have a top speed of about 45-55 mph. All in the gearing.

I like that they are based off of our trucks but...I don't like them. BUt, then again, I don't like foreign cars. I don't think I would even be able to get inside of one...

Re: Japanese Mini '72 C10 (cool video)

if you have an engine bigger than 2.0 liters you pay taxes up the ying-yang like the gas guzzler tax on super cars here (dodge viper comes to mind). funny how the best performance parts for japanese cars come from japan, they just can't enjoy them there unless they have lots of $$$ (and we get hit with shipping fees to get them here).

GM does have some interesting retro models here that offer some deal of modern day practicality. the ssr was a cool rig (or would have been with a manual trans option) and the HHR gives the Chevy loyal fans something in the vain of the PT cruiser but brings back the glory of the "advanced design" era suburban. i have seen the retro 67-72 front ends on the regular kei cars with the stock passenger/wagon rear ends.

at least the van is based on a Honda and not some korean brand piece of junk (hyundai, daewoo and kia are the car equivalent of STD's to me).

i have a 72 Suburban C20, an 87 Ram 50 (mitsubishi import), and an 86 Aries "K" wagon.......these little "trucks" make me think of my rides all rolled into one! no place to park 3 cars in japan....tough enough owning one car over there!

Re: Japanese Mini '72 C10 (cool video)

you mean a DUMB car where your knees are the crumple zone? check out the PEEL P50 if you want an economical car you can park anywhere!

and yes, car makers are all homogenized now. i hated the dodge caliber the moment i heard they ditched the dodge 2.4 (a throwback to the dodge 2.2/2.5 in my k car) in favor of that stupid "world engine" 2.4 piece of $H!T (you can quote me on that)

i don't drive new cars (cost, taxes, etc). my daily driver is a hand me down 97 merc sable wagon that my parents bought a year old. it was built in this country and still runs beautifully despite 209,000 miles on the clock. but i'm looking to get my two 80's cars fixed so i will have something to drive when the merc's second wind is spent! i can't ride motorcycles in the winter and the burb stays home except on the occasional clear day or in an emergency.
