Help on vin and paint#
I have found sites that help with vin tag decoding but i can't find anything on bench seat color or exterior color. I also have custom trim and my tag says
trim-STD(standard). paint-RPO721H vin-OC144L1O7148 help please. Last edited by bad61; 12-23-2010 at 10:56 PM. |

Re: Help on vin and paint#
The exterior code should be on your Tag on the driver side kick panel. Not to sure about the seat color.

Re: Help on vin and paint#
Did you try the FAQ section above the threads? There is a vin thread; haven't read it though......

What's the story on the circle track style truck? That is one mean looking son of a gun!

Re: Help on vin and paint#
paint-RPO721H.... in 1960 rpo721 was called pure white. solid color truck, not two tone.
vin-OC144L1O7148... 0= 1960, C= 2wd, 14= swb 115", 4= pickup, L= los angeles assy. plant, 107148= 7148th built that year.

Re: Help on vin and paint#
I like your work Jons custom shop! I was raised in billings and have deep roots in montane, thanks for your help. The trim says it's standard but it's custom, could they have screwed up at the plant?

Re: Help on vin and paint#
I was thinking the trim-std might refer to the interior, the bbw and custom cab stuff might have been a rpo that would be on the build sheet, but not the tag.
I have a 66 bbw with the trim , and the build sheet lists both of them , I will have to check the kick panel tag and see what it says.

Re: Help on vin and paint#
as far as I know the very first pic you posted is correctly trimmed out.
in the aftermarket you can get a rear rubber with a chrome bead lock, but it is not factory correct.
