Differential question

I have started cleaning the frame and sprayed everything with Simple Green and then used the pressure washer. Now I'm seeing fluid coming from the top of the Differential. Have I knocked something loose that I shouldn't have?

Re: Differential question

If I am seeing the same fluid you are seeing, it is a hole in a casting plug. Fairly common issue and easy to solve. Just plug the hold with jbweld. You might want to drain the fluid first.

Re: Differential question

That is a leak past one of the original welds that holds the tubes in the center section. It really shouldn't leak out the top though? Was this thing upside down during the cleaning process?
Lots of them are slightly damp there, usually just enough to hold dust, but the seepage is minimal. Be sure that the vent hose is not clogged, that will aggrivate this condition.

Re: Differential question

It wasn't upside down while cleaning, but I wasn't being careful with the pressure washer in that area either. The JBWeld sounds like a good idea to me. I'm just getting started and am in well over my head so I'll be back with more questions. Thanks guys.
