need advice

i just got my 77 chevy doner truck for front disk swap i am going to sawp the complet crossmember assbly but i need to know if ineed to remove the springs first or not and any info from past plobems you all have had with this swap would be helpful and i be thankful i have read all the threads on this and i think i can do it just whanted some advice i forgot to say its going on 1970 gmc lwb

yes iam doing motor sawp at same time taking out sb puting in big block can any one tell me what bb was offered in 1977

No need to remove springs, its basic like you've read, unbolt both, roll the new one under drill 2 holes where bolts to frame and finish installing all other parts. No need to tear any of it down intially altough brake pads, seals, wheel bearings etc... are now a good time to replace plus any other questionable parts, be sure to have some tie rod boots on hand for any you damage.

thanks gmc paul i was thinking of replacing all tie rods and ball joints when installing the new crossmember to be on safe side. and the guy were got 77 donertruck only rembers that it not a 454 bb in it but it is a big block thanks jbartgmc-10
