What was the stock quadrajet model in a 1970 Big Block 400?

The Q-jet carb for your big block would have been a 4MV.

1970 396 310hp Rochester 4MV P/Ns... 10 all 7040509... 20/30 all 7040206... But the choke vacuum breaks and jets are different per application. So check the specifications section of the factory chassiss overhaul manual specific to your model year. The parts catalog I'm using ('79 printing) does not have replacement 4MVs in it only repair kits keyed to these numbers.
