Help E Brake

Hello,

I need a picture of the emergency brake frame bracket (parking brake) on a Task Force truck. It has been so long since I removed that I do not remember how to put it back. I took the rivets off. I now need to relocate it a few inches back.
I need to see the bracket and how the cable attaches to the lever on the frame bracket.

Thank you,

Re: Help E Brake

Has anybody used a different type of brake pedal, such as one from a 70s car?

Re: Help E Brake

DransportGarage, hsdropout,

Thank you very much for the pictures. I have been looking on the web for days with negative results.
I want to keep the E brake somewhat original. I have a Lokar universal kit but I really like the brakets and levers under the cab as well as the bracket on the frame. And most important the brake handle in the cab. Now I just need to get a hold of Control Cables and order a new set of cables.

Next time I will take pictures before I take things apart.

72Mountaineer,
I still have the OEM pedal but I will change to a flat shaft pedal to match the accelerator shaft.

Again, thank you all for the pictures.

Look at my build thread, I used a 74 truck inside foot pedal assemby and cable mated to the stock back linkage.

I like it!!! That would have been option two. Specially if it releases when you push on it....

I got to do my can corners as well.

I see you replaced the lower door hinge caged nut...IS that working out with just replacing the lower portion and not the whole hinge pocket?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help.
On the driver side I had to replace the complete hinge opening. On the passenger I only replaced the lower half that was rusted out. I always leave as much of the original as I can (cutting back to good metal) so that hopefully the alignment is ok. I haven't hung the doors yet but do not think I will have issues I took measurements from the step at the bottom and side to the original nut locations and am less than 1/16th off my measurements. The nut has about 1/4" play in all directions so I'm ok.

The truck brake has a pull hand release that mounts under the dash.
