Spare Tires
My mind has been spinning aournd the idea of having dual spare tires. I'm thinking step side, tank under the bed tire in front of each fender. I'm pretty sure I've seen tires mounted on either side so the parts are out there Has anyone ever seen this done before? I'm also wondering if there would be enough room for smoke stacks? maybe a long step with dual spare and dual smokes?

If you have dual spares, the stacks would have to come up the inner front corners of the bed. Only place there would be room. I've never seen a RH spare tire fender, only LH. But if you can find both, it would looks good but a lil funny from the rear. Go for it!

Sweet! Saved these pics for future reference. I'm kinda thinking long step bed, with short bed steps and stacks would work out good. Anyone know the difference in length of the two steps?
This is a pretty nice truck, but I think $6,900 was a little high.

Am I spacing it, or does that truck have 7 lugs? LOL Edit: I'm not seeing things, it's 7 lugs. I've only heard rumors, but now I've really seen the rare and sought after 5/8 Ton.

Yep, I count 7 also. Look like Ford hubcaps.
Way too much bling on that truck......  Perfect visual example of how high the spare tire sets on a short bed fender vs. a long bed fender. Photo below shows a "shortbed stepside fender", mounted on a shortbed.  Photo below shows a "longbed stepside fender", mounted on a shortbed.

was on our local cl.. only I've seen..
just a quick guess on the steps, but I would assume they are the difference between a long and a short-12 inches (115 vs 127) fenders are the same size, except for the diff spare loc that lr mentioned...

The truck in the CL ad looks a little too much " Cadillac Cowboy " for my taste , a little bit " over accessorized " . Otherwise looks like a decent truck but a little overpriced IMHO .

yeah, I ment lengthwise, I sspected the cutout difference, but never had 2 to compare them to.
those hubcaps are funny, I saw one of those trucks in the wm parking lot once, and stopped to recount the 7 (?) lug nuts... wife asked why I stopped, I said "that truck has 7 lug nuts!" she gave me a wierd look and walked off...  I guess to her it was no big deal -haha

7 lugs was definitely a Ford deal. I had a 1997 light duty F-250 with 7 lugs and my brother has 2004 F-250 now with seven lugs. Some were called heavy duty half tons, with F-150 badges, though. Didn't mean to hijack.
I think the dual spares would be cool.--Jeff
